Privacy

What Planes collects, what it doesn't, and who else sees your data.

No accounts, no database

Planes has no sign-up and no user accounts, and the site keeps no customer database. There is nothing to log into and no profile stored here.

Analytics

The site uses Vercel Analytics (@vercel/analytics) for aggregate traffic measurement. It records page views and derived, non-identifying signals such as referrer, approximate location, device type and browser. It does not use cookies and does not build a cross-site profile of you.

Pages are served by Vercel, which also keeps standard request logs (including IP address) as part of operating the hosting.

Payments

Purchases of Planes Pro are handled entirely by Polar, our merchant of record. Checkout happens on Polar's own pages: your name, email, billing details and card data are submitted to Polar, never to this site. Planes stores no payment details and no card numbers.

Polar sends your license key to the email address you provide at checkout, and their handling of that data is governed by Polar's own privacy policy.

If you arrive at checkout through a campaign link, the site forwards a short attribution tag (source/medium/campaign values from the URL) into Polar's checkout metadata. These are sanitized marketing labels only and contain no personal information.

License keys

When you validate or activate a license key — on the setup page, or when the shadcn CLI installs a Pro component — the key is sent to this site and forwarded to Polar for verification. Validation results are cached in server memory for a few minutes so repeated installs stay fast; that cache is temporary and is not written to any database.

To blunt abuse of those endpoints, the server keeps a short-lived in-memory count of requests keyed by IP address and a license-key prefix. It expires within minutes and is not persisted or shared.

Email

There is no newsletter and no email capture on this site. If you email support directly, that message and your address sit in the ordinary email inbox it was sent to, and are used only to answer you.

Your data rights

Because purchase and customer records live with Polar, requests to access, correct or delete purchase data are best made through Polar's customer portal or their support. For anything else, email us and we will help.
