Planes is a registry of animated React components — carousels, marquees, card stacks, command palettes, physical controls, and full hero sections — built with React 19, Next.js, Tailwind CSS v4, TypeScript, and Motion. It is a shadcn-style registry rather than an npm package: the shadcn CLI writes real .tsx source files into your project, so every component you install is yours to read, edit, and extend.

Free components install from a public registry URL with no account. Pro components are unlocked by a one-time Planes Pro purchase that grants lifetime access to everything in the catalog, including future additions, with unlimited commercial use.

Planes is designed, built, and maintained by Ashish Gogula, a software engineer who cares about interfaces that feel physical — springs tuned by hand, gestures that track the pointer, details that hold up at 60fps. Every component in the catalog ships with a live demo, a props table, and its exact install command.

There are no accounts and no customer database on this site. Payments are handled by Polar as merchant of record, and license keys are validated against Polar on every Pro install. The catalog grows steadily — the changelog records every addition — and existing buyers get each new Pro component at no extra cost.

Agents are first-class citizens here: the site publishes an llms.txt index, serves markdown versions of its docs, and works with the shadcn MCP server so tools like Claude Code and Cursor can browse and install components directly.
